Hi all! I not been posting here for a while, because while the spring has arrived to my neighborhood it has brought my horrible allergies with it. My past days have been spent in the comfort of my own bed, hiding from all the evil trees that make me sneeze the hell out me. 😀

But, I’m starting to feel better, and I’m totally enjoying it. I got rid of my old winter hair, and changed the black locks to bright red curls that I just adore. Everyone who has had red hair while standing in the sunlight might understand 😛

I also got my Sassy-Nation-Bodysuit from Blackmilk Clothing and oh-my-god it is amazing! If anyone has doubted if it would be worth it to order it, I can say it definitely is. It became instantly one of my favorite pieces of clothing!

But now to the real business which is nails!

I wanted to do something that would match my new hair, so I used red holographic polish Sleigh Me from Liquid Sky. It truly is a perfect polish. It is so beautiful and it combines my 2 favorite qualities of nail polishes; holo + redness ! :3

Then I stamped it with black flower lace pattern, from one of my sisters plates. It is plate from Emily De Molly (number 01)

Then I finished the design with clear rhinestones. 🙂

I’ve been recently spending my time in the lovely spring of the southern Finland (Helsinki & Porvoo). I had amazing time there, but with only 1 minus – I’ve haven’t been able to do my nails in over a week. The cracking polish and ugly nails almost drove me crazy. But now I’m home and I’ve spoiled my nails with lots of care and brand new nail art. ❤

Naturally, I did a little bit shopping while visiting our dear capital. I visited Cesarsshops little store and few polishes wanted to accompany me to my home. :3 Lately, I’ve been drooling over Color Clubs holographic polishes, because summer is coming and holos just look so great in sunlight. So, here’s something that I came up with my new Color Clubs: Beyond & Harp On It

I really had no idea what should I do when I started to paint the base with Beoynd. Then, I decided to go with the first stamping plate that my hand would reach from my drawer. And I definitely had luck with me, because the moment I saw the diamond pattern on Bundlemonsters plate 422, I knew that it would fit the design perfectly. What do diamonds and holographic polishes have in common? Maybe not the price, but definitely the shine and sparkle. Harp On It was a perfect polish to do the pattern with.

The diamond design with my favorite pendant ❤

And to add even more sparkle, I used Northern Lights from Inm as the top coat. ❤

19. Bold & Beautiful

In this weeks ”Lakkaushaaste”, the challenge was to make really bold nails that would stand out from a crowd. I’m not very good in such designs, so my boyfriend suggested that I’d make a water marble design with some psychedelic colors.

water marble

I tried out some polishes but they didn’t really work well with the water so I took those who worked and went with it.

I used Summer Neon from Wild and Crazy as a base, and a red polish also from them, wet n wilds Glowstick from their Fergie collection and neon yellow from from Flormar for the water marble.

Then I stamped it with black Konad polish and a pattern from my new XL plate.  It turned out quite nice in my mind. Hope you like them too! : )

I’ve been drooling over and swatching my LynB Designs polishes that I ordered a while ago and I have to say that I’m in love. Can’t wait to make nailart with these. :3

But now to my current nails. Last night I was craving for those little sweets that a pastel colored and filled with chocolate (can’t seriously remember the name), so when they were out of my reach I ended up making a nail design that resembles them.

I did a water marble design, using Sorbet So Good from Rimmel and Can’t Find My Czechbook from O.P.I. First I did what I think is the most common pattern among water marble nails, but they didn’t quite please my eye. So I tried again using water marble stripes, after finding a nice tutorial on Youtube.  (Quick tip! If you don’t have a stick to use to make the patterns to the water marble desing, check your kitchen for some spaghetti. Doesn’t cost much and fulfills its purpose. :D)

I really like how they turned out, and if I would do them again, the only correction would be that I wouldn’t use white base under the water marbles. The light pink Sorbet So Good would have been a better surface to bring out the light pink color more clearly. But overall, these are really sweet nails that make me want to eat them of my hands 😀 The polishes I used behaved nicely with water so there weren’t any major problems during the process. ^^

17. Starfleet

I have to confess that lately I’ve had a hard time to come up with any new nail designs. The reason is probably that my two previous designs were in my opinion a little bit more creative and well-done than my other nails here, so I just couldn’t post any “just ok” nails. But now I’m luckily over that. The cure may have been my recent purchases consisting of nail polish and stamping plates. ^^’

Star Trek insta

Here is the result of buying the Sugar Bubbles plate 014. I couldn’t hold myself back when I saw the Starfleet logo from Star Trek on the plate. A must have pattern for me, because I’m a huge fan of the Star Trek universe. Also the whole plate is almost like made for my taste, can’t wait to try the other patterns on it. ^^ I’m so glad I found it!  So this is a appreciation design for all those amazing moments that I’ve spent with the fandom.

So first I chose 3 polishes to represent the shirts of the crew. The yellow and blue polishes were both Nails polishes from Seppälä and the red was Heart on Fire by Rimmel London. I painted the bottom of the nails with black, so they would look more like a shirt. Then I made stamper decals out of the Starfleet logo.

Star Trek

When I bought the blue and red polishes I also found a gorgeous glow in the dark nail polish with star and moon glitters from Seppälä. I thought it would fit perfectly in the space themed design. So, because it glowed in the dark, I got an idea to make also the logos a little bit more exiting – by applying glow in the dark top coat on them at the beginning of making the decals.

Star Trek Darkness

They turned out pretty well, the only downside being that the glow doesn’t look as good on the camera than it does IRL. I hope you like the design!

16. Sakura

Spring time is here ! 🙂 The Lakkaushaaste group had a challenge this week to make nails that resemble spring somehow. So, when my new Sugar Bubbles plates arrived in the mail, the Japanese styled plate gave me an idea to paint cherry blossoms (=Sakura) on my nails.

These really turned out well, and are probably my favorites from the nails I’ve made so far 🙂 First, I used white Matte nail polish from Seppälä and then painted it over with China Glazes Dandy lyin’ around. The reason why I did that, is because the China is a bit too transparent to be used by itself, so with a good strong white under it, it only needed 1 layer to look good.

Japani

Then I started making the stamper decals from the Sugar Bubbles plate – I wanted to give the flowers a bit color so I decided that just stamping wasn’t enough. I bought a rose-colored polish from Rimmel just for the occasion, because I really don’t own any light pink colors. Maybe when the summer nears, I’ll by some :3 And also, that the nails wouldn’t be boring, I made a different kind of decal to my ring finger nail. It is a really pretty picture of a geisha sitting by a river and reading a scroll. To color it, I used the same rose polish that I used for the blossoms, Gray Day from Models Own and Can’t Find My Czechbook from O.P.I.

I hope you like these as much as I do! ^^

I’ve been planning these nails for a while now and finally managed to decide which polishes to use. I got the inspiration from Bundlemonsters plate 414 where there’s a image of a skyscraper silhouette. It got me thinking of a sun rising and setting behind it. All the polishes were from Wet n Wild;

Morning sun: Orange

The day: Blue Wants to Be a Millionaire

Setting sun: Hannah Pinktana

The nightfall: Teal of Fortune

bmb

I was not sure what to do with the thumb nails; paint it black as the darkest night, or something else. Then I got the idea to make a ombre with all the colors for the other nails and stamp the building there also 🙂 So, you can see the outcome in the pictures! Hope you like it 🙂

14. Fiery Ombre

At Monday, I noticed that it is dangerous for me to go anywhere near places that sell polishes. Or at least for my wallet. I visited Oulu and traveled back home with a bag full of shiny goods that I found. I almost jumped and cried with joy when I saw the wonderful Nails polishes were on sale at Seppälä. Only 2 euros per bottle! ❤ I also got a nail decoration kit with some holographic glitter polish, skittlettes and nail glitter. And because it’s Spring and the sun has started to brighten up the days, I had to by a spring polish; Peach Nectar from Isadora. It’s so cute and I love liquid sand polishes.

But to my newest nails. I decided to do something very colorful with my new red Nails polish and my old orange one. So ombre time!

10154196_774466572571400_8896739968760185354_n

I really like how they turned out, the pattern from Bundlemonsters plate number 403 matching quite nicely the ombre base. The strong black created a good contrast with the fiery colors beneath it.

I still have a little bit too many problems with waiting patiently for my polish to dry… As you maybe can see in the pictures, it isn’t the cleanest result. Also, it was very difficult to place the patterns in the right place by stamping, so after couple of failed attempts, I decided to make stamper decals out of the pattern so I would have more time and possibilities to be careful.

Also, got great news today; the stamping plates that I ordered while ago had arrived to Finland. :3 They are in Oulu now so maybe I’ll pick up them at Friday or so.. Can’t wait to get my hands on them !

13. Matte Coral

I’ve had a hard time to come up with good ideas for the weekly challenges from the “Lakkaushaaste” group in Facebook. I have started to make so many nails but stopped always in the halfway because they just were not working for me. But today I started to reshape my nails because the last shape was so vulnerable, often breaking when the length reached certain point. So I took out my nail file and got rid of the round shape of the tips ^^. My nails are still bit short for this but I think I’ll love them when they grow a little bit to this shape.

Ah, and then I also had to paint them! The challenge this week was to do matte nails, so I used Coral Prosilk Matt Effect nail enamel. Then I saw my Konad m73 and thought the square pattern could match cutely with the coral color. 🙂 So here you go:

1903006_771979759486748_454358539_n

The pattern on my thumb failed a bit because it was still a bit wet when I applied the top coat.. But it had failed about five times already because I’m so terrible at not doing anything while my nails dry. Should seriously consider the quick dry top coat. 😀

12. Saint George

After completely ruining my last nails by going to sleep before the polish had completely dried, I hit a series of failed attempts to take part in this weeks polishing challenge which was to do wrap nails. I tried and tried but only to notice that me and wrap nails don’t get along. At all. The results were just horrible. Never again.

So in my agony I dug up my new A-England Saint George to seek some comfort from it’s beautiful depths. And it definitely cheered me up. These polishes have been a dream to polish with, covering the nail almost with the first layer and preserving the color they have in the bottle.

To protect the nails, I used my sisters quick dry top coat Northern Lights by Inm. It. Was. Gorgeous. ❤ I have to find it somewhere and buy it ! It was the most beautiful holographic glitter topcoat I’ve ever seen. And it worked perfectly with Saint George.

Although the nails were simple and beautiful as they were, I had to do some stamping. I stamped the pattern from Konads plate numer m63 with silver matte polish.
